On Sunday, the staggering collapse of part of a glacier in Uttarakhand’s Nanda Devi mountain in Chamoli district, followed by massive ensuing floods that have claimed many lives shook the entire nation. Scores of people have lost their lives while some are missing after the wave of water hit the city. Soon after the mishap, ITBP, IAF and other agencies came to everyone’s rescue which caused a relief among everyone. Many celebs from the entertainment industry took to their social media handles and spoke about the devastating incident in the North.
However, actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas also took to her Twitter handle to laud the agencies who are in the Uttarakhand rescue mission. She wrote, “In a time of such a devastating crisis, it’s heartening to see the work being done by NDRF, ITBP, IAF & every single helping hand involved in the #Uttarakhand rescue mission. Words are not enough to applaud your work. My thoughts are with everyone who’s been affected by this tragedy.” Her next tweet was the helpline numbers for the needy, “Please contact Disaster Operations Center - 1070 of 9557444486 for help.” Reportedly, a joint team of ITBP, Army, NDRF and SDRF entered the Tapovan tunnel where several workers are feared trapped inside the tunnel.
Other stars like Akshay Kumar, Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Sonu Sood and many more have shown their support and have sent out prayers for people who are affected.
